BESS Screener

Updated: Sep 18, 2020

The BASC-3 Behavioral and Emotional Screening System (BESS) is completed three times a year as a universal screener to identify resources that may be beneficial to a student’s overall well-being. It is a survey completed by the classroom teacher for students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade, while 4th and 5th grade students complete the survey themselves. If parents or guardians would like for their children not to participate, they must submit a signed letter to “opt-out.”

Please see the attached letter for more information.

**The screening window has changed to Monday, Sept. 21st - Friday, Oct. 9th.
